解説
- ブナ科の常緑高木．
- 木材としては弾力性があり，器具・建築などに利用された．また，昔は舟の櫓（ろ）に用いられた．
- 寺社や人家に植栽されることもある．
- 東広島キャンパスでは，国際の森に1本植栽されている．キャンパス内の植栽木については，どんぐりがまだ実らないが理由はよくわかっていない．
