Description
- Distributed in Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, Oki Is., and other islands. Outside of Japan, Korea, northeastern China, and southernmost Primorskii, USSR.
- In Hiroshima Pref., distributed among southern mountains with altitude and minor islands.
- Breeds from April to September in still water in rice field, ponds, ditches, and sometimes in pools of dry riverbed. (Maeda & Matsui, 1999)
- Some larvae pass the winter, and metamorphose next year.
- Often confused with Fejervarya kawamurai (Dicroglossidae).
- In non-breeding season, we can see near or in the pool of water.
